How WHR Is Calculated
WHR = Waist Circumference / Hip Circumference. For men, a ratio above 0.90 indicates increased health risk. For women, above 0.85 is considered higher risk.
Why WHR Matters
WHR indicates fat distribution. Apple-shaped bodies (higher WHR) carry more abdominal fat, linked to higher cardiovascular and metabolic disease risk. It complements BMI for a fuller health picture.
